OnePlus 6T is the latest flagship device form the company that offer a refined experience on their immediate predecessors. The OnePlus 6T looks to improve on the already excellent OnePlus 6 with a larger display, smaller notch, bigger battery and new In-display fingerprint technology. It’s has 6.41-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass 6 protection. OnePlus 6T is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip, 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. It sports a 16MP + 20MP of dual rear camera and a 16 MP front facing camera. The phone runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 9.0 Pie. It has 3,700 mAh battery.
OnePlus 6T frame is made of metal but both front and back are glass. It features Gorilla Glass 6 at the front and back rather than the all-metal unibody, with tapered edges it make very comfortable to hold.ON the front the new In-display fingerprint sensor sits underneath the lower part of the display. On the rear you’ll find the dual rear-camera. The power/lock key sits on the right and the the handset . A dual-SIM tray on the left. On the bottom, you’ll find a single mono speaker, a USB Type-C (2.0) port, The tall 19:9 aspect ratio helps a lot, and it also gives the front of the phone gets waterdrop notch that modern bezel-less look with 85.6 percent screen-to-body-ratio. The company claims the handset can withstand accidental water splashes, but it is not IP rated water and dust resistant.
The OnePlus 6T flaunts a 6.41-inch optic AMOLED 19:9 aspect ratio display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 and a pixel density of 402ppi. Screen is vibrant, sharp, has great viewing angles and a good amount of brightness to use under direct sunlight.
The phone has different screen calibration modes like, including system default, sRGB, DCI-P3, Adaptive mode, and a user-defined custom calibration profile.
The phone also integrates an in-display fingerprint scanner. You can customise the animation that goes along with the unlocking process. The scanner a bit slow and inaccurate at times, OnePlus says this should get better over time, learning your fingerprint as you use it. You are not limited to only the in-display fingerprint scanner, facial recognition is still present and it unlocks the phone quite fast.

OnePlus 6T sports a dual rear camera setup which includes 16-MP primary sensor (f/1.7 aperture, OIS+EIS, PDAF, 1.22 µm pixel size) and 20-MP secondary sensor (f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, 1.0 µm pixel size) with AI scene detection, Portrait mode, HDR, and Studio Lighting. On the front, a 16-MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, EIS, Portrait mode, screen flash, studio lighting, and HDR.
OnePlus 6T features OIS (optical image stabilization) and EIS (electronic image stabilization) on the rear 16MP snapper, which helps in reducing camera shake and the consequent blurring. OnePlus 6T is capable of capturing good photos under low-light conditions. It is capable of shooting 4K videos at 60fps but with a limit of five minutes. It can also record videos in super slow-motion with 1080p at 240fps and 720p at 480fps.
In good light, outdoors, the slow-motion capture can produce some eye-catching results, but step inside and under artificial light, or in low-light conditions, the quality drops quite slightly. To reduce noise, the OnePlus has added a new “Night” mode, which takes a long exposure to increase sharpness and dynamic range.
Hardware, Performance and Battery
The device is powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor with Adreno 630 GPU paired with it comes with 6GB/ 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage.
In terms of performance, performance is as good as any other flagship Android phone, a few extra features and optimizations to make OnePlus’ phones feel fast.Gaming Mode help give an extra boost of performance.
The 3,700mAh battery on the OnePlus 6T will lasts more than a day with moderate usage which according to OnePlus increases battery life by 20 percent. But it misses out on wireless charging support.
Software, Connectivity and Sensors
The phone runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box which offer near stock Android experience without any bloatware or unnecessary pre-loaded apps. It offers improved navigation gestures to make the phone a bit easier to use.
The device has a dual SIM slot design (Nano-SIM). There is no option for external storage available. It also has support for VoLTE. You get GPS, A-GPS, USB OTG, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth connectivity. Sadly, the phone misses out on the 3.5mm headphone jack.
In the sensors department it has all the basic required sensors like,In -display Fingerprint scanner, Accelerometer, E-compass, Gyroscope, Proximity and Ambient light sensor. It measures 157.50 x 74.80 x 8.20 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 185.00 grams.
Our opinion on OnePlus 6T
The OnePlus 6T is a flagship-class device in terms of performance and design, a power-packed device which is faster and offers solid built quality. Both the cameras of the device performs great. OnePlus 6’s biggest omissions are 3.5mm headphone jack and wireless charging, 3D face or iris recognition, AI enhancements, 960fps slow-motion, and HDR video recording. However, it does strike a fantastic balance of what you need from a it from a flagship device. At this moment, OnePlus 6T is a complete package which not many brands offer, it is the best phone to buy around 40k price range.
