In the Indian budget and mid-range market, Xiaomi smartphones reign supreme.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note series, soon to join the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India, is hard to beat on the awareness of the Indian market.
But the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 was a serious contender for India’s best mid-range smartphone when it is launching earlier this year.
The ZenFone Max Pro M1 appears to be the perfect budget smartphone for an Indian XDA user with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, up to 6 GB RAM/64 GB storage,
A 5.99-inch 1080 2160 LCD, dual 13+5MP rear cameras, a 5000mAh battery and close to Android 8.1 Oreo.
We heard rumors, Asus is preparing to launch the ZenFone Max Pro M2, and the device is launching online.
A couple of days ago, the notable Roland Quandt leaker from WinFuture tweeted some possible specifications for the future Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2. The CPU, size of display, RAM, storage and number of rear cameras were included in the specifications.
A smartphone called ZenFone Max Pro M2 by Asus with the model name ASUS X01BD 1 has been published in the Google Play Console device catalogue.
While the listing information is not guaranteed to be correct, since the Google Play Console notes that “device specifications are provided by the manufacturer and have not been confirmed” current rumors. First, here’s Asus’ low resolution render to Google:
Asus Zenfone Max Pro
Unfortunately, you can’t see much here.
Of course, there is a display clamp that looks like what is on the Asus ZenFone 5Z.
From the icons we can see that the device runs close to the stock of Android, although it looks like Asus has just removed the same background from the submission.
The Play Console list also includes certain supposed device specifications, such as 6 GB RAM.
Asus is probably running a 4 GB RAM model, but it is not submit to Google.
The 6 GB RAM may also be incorrect in the listing, but since Asus has previously released a ZenFone Max Pro M1 6 GB RAM model,
we are inclined to believe that it will repeat with the ZenFone Max
Finally, said Android 8.1 Oreo is running. You can launch the ZenFone Max Pro M2 with Android Pie, but Asus has not submitted it.
Again, take the requirements with a grain of salt because even Google says it was provided by the manufacturer and could be wrong
— like the early appearance on the Razer Phone 2 play console.
The model name (aura) and render of the Razer, however, Phone 2 was correct,
so we might have an early look at the upcoming ZenFone Max Pro M2.
